Glenville
Glenville is a neighborhood east of the city of Cleveland in the state of Ohio. The district was born in 1870 as an independent city it did not really become a district of th…e city of Cleveland until 1904. At its beginnings the district was considered as a dormitory equivalent to a hotel village which served the layer of well-to-do population from Cleveland. There was a racetrack where trotting races were held, but also car, cycling or athletics races, and the famous Cleveland Country Club. Immovable :
Shortly after the 1940s Glenville developed with private equity. New constructions have appeared. Semi-detached houses or independent villas. The period from 1905 to 1950 gave pride of place to residents of the Jewish faith. Finally more than 90% of the population was of Jewish religion. In particular, many stores, shops, butcheries were owned by companies run by people of the Jewish faith. The district also includes several Synagogues. Whereas after the 1950s, the African-American population took over. Finally these Synagogues are today used as African-American churches. Geographic location :
The district of Glenville is in the North-West partly inserted in Gordon Park. The west side is bordered by Rockefeller Park where there is notably a part of Martin Luther King drive. Rockefeller Park is the most important park in the city of Cleveland. Mostly renowned for its gardens steeped in history and grandiose greenhouses.
